Give Slushies An Upgrade With Simply Granitas
Summer is just around the corner, and with the sunshine comes a fantastic selection of fruity refreshments. That’s why we’re here to formally introduce you to our range of Simply Granita Slushies, the ideal summer menu item.
If you’ve never heard of granitas, allow us to explain. Granitas are a semi-frozen Italian dessert, originating in Sicily. Think of it as a cross between a slushie, a sorbet and an American-style snow cone. Made with sugar, water and typically lemon flavouring, these smooth icy treats can come in so many flavours while being completely allergen free. This adult approach to slushies is super refreshing and should be a staple on your summer menu.
Easy to make, quick to serve
Making a granita slushie couldn’t be easier! Just blend 56g of your chosen granita slushie flavour with 100ml water and a cup of ice, then garnish with complementary fresh fruit and herbs. You can also make large batches in a slushie or margarita machine by pouring in the whole bag with 2.5 litres of water, and the machine will do the blending and freezing for you. This is a fantastic option if you’ve got the counter space, as all you’ll need to do is pour and garnish – quick serves equal happy customers!
Boozy beverages or sober sips?
Add in your favourite spirits to transform them into alcoholic frozen daiquiris or margaritas. White rum, vodka and gin are brilliant choices for this, and a splash of tequila will never go awry! Check out our Frozen Strawberry Daiquiri recipe for your first step of inspiration.

Switch up your slushies
Our five base flavours are delicious as they are, but that doesn’t mean you can’t change it up and create your own combinations. One of our favourite ways to mix it up is by swirling two slushies together. Simply blend each granita separately, and carefully layer them on top of each other in the cup. Popular flavour combos are lemon and lime, watermelon and lime, and strawberry and peach. You can also add any Simply Syrups before blending to create speciality flavours that are exclusive to your café or restaurant.
